How to get a routine eye exam: The Routine Vision Care Providers listed in the link below are a list of EyeMed's network of routine vision care providers and optical shops.Routine eye exams do not require a referral from your primary care physician's (PCP). You may go directly to one of the routine vision care providers listed on EyeMed's website. Should you go outside the EyeMed network for routine care you will be financially responsible for those services.

How to get medical care for your eyes: If you have, or think you have, a medical condition, such as cataracts or glaucoma, you need to request a referral from your PCP before seeking medical treatment from an eye care specialist. A referral to an eye care specialist within your PCP's medical group will be provided if medically necessary. To search for a PCP click on the Provider Search tab at the top of this page.

Note: Not all eye care providers are within your PCP's contracting network. Although you may access any EyeMed Vision Provider provider for routine services, you must receive all non-routine medically necessary vision services within your PCP's contracting network, with a referral from your PCP. This may require that you use a different provider if medically necessary vision services are needed.
